The crispness of a hand-turned finial, the beauty of a hand-carved rosette, the graceful curves of inlaid boxwood stringing, the refinement of an ogee bracket foot – these are some hallmarks of fine quality hand-built furniture.

Solid Construction
Drawers and cases put together with hand-cut dovetails, designs that encourage natural wood movement throughout the seasons, and minimal use of screws, nails and other metal fasteners signify furniture that will be around long enough to wear the patina of life’s nicks and dings with grace and pride.

Quality materials and Finishes
Hand-selected hardwoods are accented with highly figured veneers and inlays. In this example, the solid black walnut case is complemented by a single oval of rich chocolate claro walnut inlay on the central drawer.

All hardware, including locksets, cast hinges and drawer pulls, is of the finest quality solid brass. The surface finish is simple, hand-rubbed linseed oil and shellac. This labor-intensive method of furniture finishing shows off the subtle depth of the wood’s grain without a distracting over-glossy surface that can obscure color and grain pattern.
